SHINE Partners

The network is comprised of WHO EMRO, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Government of Pakistan, District Education Department, universities, non-governmental organisations and policy partners from Pakistan, Jordan, Iran, and Egypt, with technical support from universities in the United Kingdom and United States. This network will work alongside other global networks working to tackle priority mental health issues in different regions of the world. The aim of this collaborative network is to inform strategies for scaling-up child and adolescent mental health programmes to regional/national levels through the knowledge sharing and best-practice.

The network will support the researchers from Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and Iran in:

  • evaluating the implementation of the SMHP
  • effectively engaging with and communicating findings to policy makers, and
  • to support the application of research findings to the development of evidence-based child and adolescent mental health policy.

SHINE (School Health Implementation Network in the Eastern Mediterranean Region) is a regional collaboration to address the challenges of implementing school-based child mental health programs in the countries under the World Health Organization’s Eastern Mediterranean Region Office (EMRO).
